About Variegated Weeping Fig
We here at Prickle may prefer the Variegated Weeping Fig's botanical name, the Ficus Starlight. As the name would suggest, its almost white-green and dark green patterned leaves make it a real eye-catcher.
The Ficus Starlight is a real homebody and it hates being moved, so don't be surprised if some of its leaves fall if you move home or when it first arrives. To avoid further meltdowns by moving it again, try to find a spot where it can fit comfortably (this tall, indoor plant is a fast grower and can grow to 2m) with lots of bright, indirect sunlight.
The Rubber Bush can be a bit of a diva - not only does it hate being moved, but it also hates temperature changes. Keep it consistently between 16-21°C for this South African native to avoid any leaves dropping off. Caring for your Ficus Starlight is reasonably simple otherwise, regularly mist and water them (overwatering will also cause its leaves to drop), and they'll be happy. If you have any little Pricklettes, furry or human, keep them away as this Prickle Plant is poisonous to them.
At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Ficus Starlight questions @Prickleplantsuk.
