About Purple Larkspur

The Purple Larkspur, scientifically known as Delphinium Highlander Flamenco, is a stunning addition to any garden, renowned for its tall spires of densely packed, double blooms in shades of vibrant pink-purple and cream. This variety is part of the Highlander series, known for its unique, multi-layered flowers that create a dazzling display of colour and texture.

These majestic plants are a fast grower, making them ideal for adding vertical interest to borders, cottage gardens, or as a striking focal point in larger garden beds. The blooms of the Highlander Flamenco are not only visually captivating but also attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, enhancing the biodiversity of your garden.

The Delphinium Highlander Flamenco prefers a sunny location with well-drained soil. Regular watering, especially during dry spells, is key to maintaining its lush appearance. Due to its height, this Delphinium may require staking to prevent the tall flower spikes from bending or breaking in the wind. Deadheading spent blooms will encourage a second flush of flowers, extending the plant’s blooming season well into summer.

At Prickle, we're passionate about helping you nurture every plant in your garden. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us @prickleplantsuk.
