Top tip

Don't worry if your Peace Lily hasn't flowered in a while. Many take a few years before they are mature enough to flower.

About Peace Lily

In today's stressful world, we could all use a bit of peace in our homes. So, what better addition to your home than your very own Peace Lily? This tall, air-purifying, indoor plant gives a calming feel to a room with its beautiful white flowers. Once your Peace Lily flowers, be sure to prune away any dead ones for more to grow. The Spathiphyllum Peace Lily is a fast grower, but it won't get bigger than 2m tall.

To care for your Peace Lily, give it a water when the first 5cm is dry, and mist it often. Its leaves will show you when it's thirsty by dropping down but don't worry, they recover quickly. Your South American Peace Lily likes it nice and warm (18-24°C) and it likes being kept in bright, indirect sunlight. However, this tranquil plant wouldn't want to disturb the peace by being too particular so it can handle lower temperatures (as low as 12°C) and is slightly shade tolerant.

While it may bring us a sense of calm, that would quickly change if children or pets happened to get their hands (or more accurately mouths) on it as it is poisonous when ingested.

At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Peace Lily questions @Prickleplantsuk.
