About Medallion Prayer Plant
It’s safe to say here at Prickle we are just a little bit obsessed with the Calathea Veitchiana and its beautifully striking patterned leaves. Unlike many other plants, this South American native prefers being kept in the shade, so it’s perfect for homes with less natural light.
Don't let their love of shade fool you - the Calathea Medallion care isn't for the faint-hearted. Known as a diva, they like to be misted regularly and need to be watered little and often. If underwatered their beautiful leaves will begin to curl, and without being misted they can droop.
As well as being particular about its watering schedule, the Calathea Roseopicta likes to be kept in humid environments in temperatures between 18-22°C (although they can survive in as low as 15°C). Without enough humidity, their leaves will begin to crisp.
While it may require a little bit more attention than some, we think this pet-friendly, low-light-loving, indoor plant is worth it, as it makes for an amazing statement piece in any home.
At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Calathea Medallion questions @Prickleplantsuk.
