An occasional spray of mist is my beauty secret to looking fabulous!

About Lil' Begonia Chayo

If Jurassic Park had been about the Lil' Begonia Rex Chayo we think it would have had a far happier ending. After all, who wouldn't want a miniature, baby-pink T-Rex? The Lil' Begonia Chayo's striking pink foliage makes for an eye-catching addition to any sized home as its maximum height is unlikely to get above 45cm, so it won't escape and take over your home. In fact, this Begonia Rex doesn't mind living in captivity and is happiest being kept in a terrarium or indoors.

This Southeast Asian beauty is far easier to care for than its rex namesake implies (we wouldn't even know how to begin taking care of a t-rex, miniature or not). Keep it in temperatures between 15-27°C (minimum 10°C) in bright, indirect sunlight, in a room with some humidity, such as your bathroom or kitchen. Regularly water it, avoid letting its leaves stay wet, and rotate frequently for even growth. Be warned, whilst this Lil' Prick Begonia might not be as deadly as a dinosaur, it is still toxic to pets if eaten.

At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Begonia Rex Chayo baby plant questions @prickleplantsuk.
