About Green Umbrella Tree
The Schefflera Nora is nicknamed the Umbrella Plant due to its unique appearance. The unique stalks that come off the stem form small groups of leaves that resemble, you guessed it, umbrellas. However, the Umbrella Plant isn't as effective at keeping water off as it's namesake, as overwatering can be a common problem. Wait until the soil is dry, then soak your plant and let it fully drain.
Your Schefflera Nora is fast growing and will reach heights of 2m. Try to find them a home they can grow into as they are sensitive to changes in location. This also means they may take a few weeks to settle into their new home when they first arrive.
Umbrella Tree care is reasonably easy, keep in bright, indirect sunlight, give them regular water, and mist on occasion. This East Asian native likes it reasonably warm (between 15-24°C) and if it gets too cold it may lose some leaves. If this happens, give it some warm water and it will be good as new. Be sure to keep little Pricklettes away from your Umbrella Plant as it is toxic to pets and children.
At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Umbrella Tree questions @Prickleplantsuk.
