About Dragon Tree

If you ever wanted a pet dragon as a child, Prickle has the perfect plant for you! Luckily, the Dracaena Marginata, or Dragon Tree, won't set your house on fire like a real dragon! This tall, Madagascan beauty can grow to an impressive 3m! Don't panic though, your Dragon Tree won't become giant overnight as it's a slow grower. Cut away any leaves to allow new growth as well as to tame back its large leaves.

As you may have guessed, your Dragon Plant likes it hot, between 16-24°C, don't let it get below 12°C at the absolute minimum. If it's too cold your dragon plant will curl up its leaves in misery.

Dracaena Marginata care isn't too complicated, they rarely need watering - only when their soil is dry, and they enjoy the occasional mist. Too much water and their leaves will fall off - although they can fall with age. Their leaves can also fall without enough sunlight, so keep them in bright, indirect sunlight. The Dragon Tree isn't safe for children and pets, so keep it away from them!

At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Dragon Tree questions @prickleplantsuk.
